Book 2 has gone through the editing phase, we're currently pending cover art design ideas and drafting the hardest part of the book: THE MARKETING BLURB. It's amazing to me that \I can sit down and pop out a few thousand words for the book itself, but ask me to write a 100-word blurb? I freeze. Almost instantly. Usually I have to call on my best bud, Daryl, to help me with that part. Working with what he gives me as a starting point is so much easier than the dreaded blinking cursor on a blank page.
Book 3 is now officially off to the editor for the initial editing rounds. I love this stage. My editor is fantastic and I always look forward to his edits and suggestions. He make everything I do so much better.
So, now the question is, "What's next?" Well, I'm glad you've asked. I actually start a new 'real job' on Monday the 8th, so I'm trying to get this horror book idea out of my head and on paper. That means I've spent the majority of every day during the past week writing, having Jess read to find my typos and point out gaps, and then rewriting. I don't expect it to be a long novel, maybe 50-60k words. My only hope is that it's worthy of someone's eyes and the time investment to read it. At least it's short. I'll let you know if a publisher picks it up. So far I've been pleased with Aethon, so I'm hoping they'll nab it.
